So you’ve written your article, or your web page copy and are ready to start promoting
it. All that you need do now is spell check the document, check the
wording flows well and then submit it to the search engines.
Of
course, there’s the meta data to code and the titles to write for the
article, but could there be a better way to get your work noticed by
the search engines?
Today, we are going
to focus on the logic of using the thesaurus instead of the spellchecker
to help you increase your articles search rankings.
The purpose of your
articles and copy is, one assumes, to attract visitors and potential
clients to your site, to justify and emphasize your experience and knowledge,
and to improve your profile. Whatever your reason, the one main reason
we all write these articles is a constant: We write them because
we want them to be read.
It stands to reason
therefore, that you will want your article to be easy to find for your
target markets. So, it makes sense to focus your article on the keywords
that the search engines are looking for.
Wordtracker
has a system that allows you to view the keywords that the search engines
are searched for, by looking at the last hour's log and comparing your
target words with related words from its built in thesaurus. Using this
patented system, you could tweak your articles and copy to ensure it
features the right words and terminology, the phrases that the search
engines crave.
Using Wordtracker’s
database, it may become apparent that the keyword your content focused
on is not searched very often, or that there are so many sites using
the phrase that a good search engine ranking may be hard to achieve.
However, the thesaurus will suggest better phrases more likely to bring
success.
To give an example, you may be writing an article on “sensible
diet tips”. The article could feature lots of tips and useful guides
for maintaining a balanced diet, recipes and so forth.
A check with Wordtracker
tells you that the phrase is heavily searched but there are many articles
and web pages competing to be noticed. Using the thesaurus, the phrase
“sensible eating” is suggested, and with just a few changes to the article,
the web page is redesigned and ready to market.
Why waste valuable
time trying to find new angles to write your content for, when your
previous articles have proven so successful? If the issue and advice
is still current make these changes, it is very little effort, but the
rewards are huge; a greater profile, more traffic and more leads. Which
after all, is the reason for writing the article in the first place.
