Effective Headlines
By Guest Writer Larry Dotson.
I'm So Angry!
Now, I'm not really angry but it got your attention
didn't it? Otherwise you wouldn't be reading this
article. You can gain people's attention by telling
them your problems in your ad copy.
People like to hear about other people's problems
because it takes away attention from their own
problems.
Why do you think TV talk shows are
so popular?
Have you ever stopped what you was doing because
you saw one of your friends crying or looking sad.
The use of emotional words in your ad copy can
have the same effect, just like the title above.
The best place to use your emotional words is in
your headline. That's what people usually read
first.
You can use emotional words like mad, sad,
frustrated, angry, unhappy, etc.
Now you can't just say in your headline "I'm So
Sad!" and not give them a reason why. You must
explain to them in the rest of your ad copy why
you're sad.
